Along with our desktop, mobile, and tablet apps, you can play Spotify from the comfort of your browser on our web player.
You can access the entire Spotify catalog and use many of the same features offered by our app, including:
- Search for artists, albums, tracks, and playlists.
- Browse our Featured section, New Releases, and Genres & Moods.
- Access and edit Your Library, including Playlists, Songs, Albums, and Artists.
- View artist pages.
This redirects Spotify content links to the Desktop app. Click on any song/playlist link to test - Doesn't navigate away from the current page - Auto-closes if opened in a new tab - Doesn’t autoplay and interrupt your music - Supports all content types (songs, playlists, concerts, podcasts, users). Open Spotify link in client This is a small simple extension that tries to open any open.spotify.com or play.spotify.com url in the Spotify desktop client and then close the newly opened browser window. The way the extension works is: 1. If the URL visited is open.spotify.com or play.spotify.com then 2. YouTube, Wynk, Saavn, Spotify, iTunes are some of the applications that help people to listen to music anywhere and everywhere, and they are some of the most popular apps these days. People depend on these apps and their morning starts from music and ends on music. Thus, if there is some problem in the applications, it does not go down well. Add another device that supports Spotify or has the app (like a speaker or laptop). Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network, and log in to Spotify. Listen out loud. With Spotify, you can listen to music and play millions of songs and podcasts for free. Stream music and podcasts you love and find music - or your next favorite song - from all over the world. Discover new music, albums, and podcasts. Search for your favorite song, artist, or podcast. Enjoy music playlists and an unique daily mix made just for you. Make and share your own.
The web player is supported by the following web browsers:
Link your Spotify account to Game Bar. Select Link account, then follow the steps. To start using Spotify in Xbox Game Bar, press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar, choose Widget menu Spotify, and then select Launch Spotify. Open a link to any track hosted on Spotify and the extension will instantly surface it in Google Play Music. It works like a charm, and unlike other cross-service apps like Soundiiz.
Not working?
- Your web browser may need updating. You can check and update it in the Help section of your browser’s menu.
- Try opening the web player in a private/incognito window. Find the option to open a new private/incognito window in your browser’s menu.
- If you see the message “Playback of protected content is not enabled”, check out Enable the web player.
- Check @SpotifyStatus for any ongoing issues.
- Some shared or public networks (e.g. schools/work/office) restrict access to certain services. You can contact those responsible for managing the network for more information.
If it's still not working for you, try listening on the desktop app instead.
Hi,
When someone shares a Spotify link and I open it, it opens in Opera with an error message, instead of opening the Spotify app that I already have installed.
How could I force opening a Spotify share link in the app instead of in Opera browser?
Eg. of a sharing link : https://open.spotify.com/track/1CCgbiLZ4Gy0OzNayiFSRT?si=0OYrv9qAQTi234B_ArvJfQ
Version of Android: 9
Phone model and manufacturer: Huawei P20
Your version of Opera for Android: 49.2.2361.134.358
If the problem is with a page, a link to it:
https://open.spotify.com/track/1CCgbiLZ4Gy0OzNayiFSRT?si=0OYrv9qAQTi234B_ArvJfQ
If ad-blocker is enabled or not: tried with and without
If data savings is enabled or not: no
A screen-shot of the problem if it's related to something not showing as should
A description of the problem, including as much as information as possible: Spotify links load in Opera instead of in Spotify app
Steps to (try to) reproduce the issue: open Spotify sharing link
Best Spotify Apps
Expected behavior and actual one: open Spotify sharing links in Spotify app

Sorry French interface but it basically says 'playing deactivated, Spotify won't work if you block the protected content, if your browser is not compatible, or if you are using the incognito mode. Adjust your browser settings or download our free mobile app.' Button says: Download app.
